Meeting Thursday
night at 7 PM in the YCC.
As a student ministry, we
always strive to help our teens grow in their faith. There are many
tools that help us to accomplish our goal. This February we did an
overnight youth retreat that we called “Catalyst.” It allowed our
students to get to know each other better, worship the Lord longer,
and be challenged by the Word of God to bring unity to the youth
group so that we could continue to do what God has called our youth
ministry to do.
In the months of March and
April, there will be two more events that play a foundational role
in helping our students grow in their faith.
On March 20th,
YWAM Boston
(Youth
With A Mission) will
be holding a youth rally here at First Assembly for the purpose of
recruiting youth into their
“Joshua
Generation” program
and to encourage youth to begin praying about their calling to reach
the lost of this world (or as Rev. Nick Fatato calls them, the
“normal people.”) The “Joshua Generation” program is a 20 day
discipleship and outreach experience for students between the ages
of 12 and 19 years old. This program will be held right in at our
church and will involve 10 days of intense discipleship/training and
10 days of outreach/evangelism to our communities.
The
Launch (which was
formerly called youth convention) will be on April 24th
and 25th
this year. I am always excited to see how God works in the heart and
lives of our students as we meet with thousands of teens from all
over New England to worship the Lord and be challenged by His Word.
We always have a great time and I know that this plays a part in
students maturing in their faith! The Cost will be
$90 per student. We
would also like you to consider sponsoring a student who would not
otherwise be able to go to youth convention. If you can sponsor a
student, please call Pastor John here at the church or e-mail me at:
.
Thank you for your support and prayers for our teens!
