Dorcas' Helping Hands

Preacher’s preach, teachers teach, prophets prophesy but we are all NOT good with words. Dorcas used her hands to show love. She was a seamstress in Joppa who made robes & other clothing for the widows and the needy by using her hands dedicated to the Lord. The Lord was pleased with Dorcas. He used her life to showcase His love both through her and to her. Her good works had made Jesus known in Joppa & because of the miracle of her return to life many believed in Christ. (Acts 9:36-43). Christian hands are made by God for loving. Our hands can be God saving instruments in the lives of others. Our hands can preach good news to the poor, bind up the broken hearted and comfort those who mourn.

Our mission is to be God’s hand extended to those who are in need of meals and simple home tasks for those who are physically disabled temporarily and to offer assistance for the elderly.

We are Dorcas’ Helping Hands — the extended hand of God.

ATTENTION ALL LADIES!

This ladies' ministry is God's hand extended to help those of our congregation who have need of meals for a season or help with housework, grocery shopping or the like while either recuperating from illness or surgery.

We need ladies who are willing to be on call (sometimes on short notice) to prepare casseroles or meals  or who would be willing to go out with two or three women to help with some light housework & cleaning when the need arises.  If you would like to volunteer to help,  your name would be placed on an "on call" list to be contacted when a need arises.

Please contact the church office at 508-852-5733 or e-mail if you know of someone who might need this ministry.
