ARE YOU READY TO RACE???

Our second annual 5K run/walk is upon us and I for one am super excited to train and get my body ready to tackle this challenge. I have a long way to go, but I am confident that I can beat my time of 33:56. I finished 49th last year which was in the top half. Check out your time and see where you finished at:

The Race starts at our church May 4th at 9:00 and ends right back here when everyone has finished. The overall winners for males and females will get gift cards to Dick’s Sporting Goods, and certificates will be given to winners in age divisions. The price of registration will go up on the day of so register today. There will be kid’s races at the end of the race where all the kids can try to beat me in a sprint (Won’t happen, no matter how tired I am)

This year we will be getting involved as a church in many ways. You can:
1. Race. (proceeds go to supporting our child and youth programs)
a. Registration costs $20 if you are younger than 18 and $25 if you are 18 or over.

c. We are also looking for you to gain sponsorships at work or school to pay for your registration and add to the proceeds.

2. Donate your time.
a. We need timers,
b.  route help,
c. registrars,
d. photographers, and much much more
3. Donate water or fruit for day of distribution.
4. Invite your friends, neighbors, and co-workers to race, or challenge someone. The more registrations the better the race.

We will also be inviting other churches to join and rally around Christ that day. Last year Pastor Bobby Murrieta from TLC came in 4th overall and his church members that attended did very well also. Let’s take it to them this year.

I am looking for this to be a great day where we can raise money, but also a great day to proclaim Christ to our neighbors and friends. What an opportunity to open lines of communication about your faith and your church to those who you see on a daily basis.
