May Is Family Month Recap
We did it! We survived 5 Sundays of worship together as a church family. Actually, we did more than survive…we thrived. Not because our program was so great, but because our God is so great. The LORD met with us through his SPIRIT and through his WORD. Allow me to briefly recapture the Sundays of May.

May 16 – The King is calling for more laborers in his Harvest Field. Ministry provided by YWAM Boston with emphasis on our Local Mission
May 23 – Pentecost Sunday. God spoke through messengers in our congregation and we moved with the Spirit in prayers for salvation, confession of sin and infilling of the Holy Spirit. Ministry provided by Pastor Dan
May 30 – Ordinance Sunday. We recognized the LORD’s deliverance through Communion and obedience to the LORD through Baptism. Word of exhortation provided by Okey Asoh.
God encouraged us as families to continue what was started during these services. Rather, than think of our encounters with God as events, we were challenged to pursue a process. However, before the process of growth can get into full swing – we must fill ourselves with God’s information (His Holy Word) before the transformation (the changed life) will take place.
Men and Women, Mothers and Fathers let us take what we have heard &experienced this past month and apply it to our lives and in our homes. If you currently read the Bible as an individual or as a family, I challenge you to INCREASE your intake. If you currently do not read the Bible as an individual or as a family, I challenge you to BEGIN reading GOD’s TRUTH for YOUR LIFE.
Feel free to COMMENT on this blog…what did you experience during our May worship services?

Hello Pastor Brian, both Irv and I enjoyed May being family month children were super, many years ago in my growing up years, many moons ago, families always attended worship after Sunday School. Children even when antsy still hear the message I know I did of course not the whole sermon but enough to form me. I was blessed to hear the children and others give their testimony before their baptism. We are living in an era where the word of God is not heard many young people are ignorant of scripture, prayer & Jesus too many feel it is just a story and find it hard to believe any of it. We were happy to see so many families attend in May. I believe it was a success, how about you, am sure you felt good about how many did attend.
God bless, Mary
I was there for four out of the five Family Sundays, and I think it was very successful. The childen were involved and had something to do, so they were engaged, and focused. The African pastor’s message last Sunday about spending more time in God’s Word confirmed what I have felt the need to do in the last couple of weeks. I have a morning and evening devotion that I do every day, but now that Precept is over, I have a desire to spend even more time meditating on His Word. So the message on Sunday encouraged me to start doing it, which I did yesterday.
I have also been praying for my unsaved neighbors. So I invited two of the couples for dinner a couple of weeks ago, and was so pleased that they accepted my invitation, and were excited to come. We had a wonderful time, and they even allowed me to ask the blessing over the food. I didn’t witness to them, but we sat and talked about our lives, and they said it was nice getting to know me better, and enjoyed spending time together as neighbors. I also used it as a way to thank them for plowing my driveway during the winter. God is good!!!
The kidcash earned for filling out the paper during service is keeping the children from worship/service because they are too busy trying to fill it out and the little ones asking to help fill out the paper. When the children go to get the kidcash they are asked if they filled out the paper.
Thank you for asking for my comment.
That was nice to have the children in the service with the families. There is something though I would like to say about the papers the children receive coming into church for them to fill out during service and bring back after service for kid cash. During the service the adults are not able to worship or pray because they are too busy helping the little ones filling out the paper so they can get cash and the children get very upset because they do not know how to fill out the paper(the children who cannot read). Even if they can read they are too busy trying to finish the paper and not paying attention to the worship/service. Then trying to retreive the kid cash after service, is truly time consuming because the children are asked if they filled out the form and questions are asked while the adult is waiting anxiously because there are children that need to be picked up from the childcare/nursery. Just my input. Thank you
I think family services went just great. Even though my children are basically grown up, so they tell us, having the younger kids there did not take anything away from the service from an adult perspective. I think it’s a good idea to do it periodically. It not only gives the teachers a rest but lets the children know that we all go to church for the same thing. Grow in Jesus. My only hope is, can I get kids dollars for answering questions too?
God Bless!
